A co-distillation of Genovese, Gaeta, and Sweet Thai this hydrosol is a well rounded aphrodisiac, with an aroma very reminiscent of the scent of the fresh plants. An adaptogenic tonic, anti-inflammatory, carminative, antidepressant, antiseptic and antibacterial — the list goes on. Aromatically, this is one of my favorite calming medicines. It has a complex effect on our nervous system, where it first stimulates and then relaxes our mind and body helping us to be calm and remain alert. Basil promotes healthy fluid movement in our body and therefore is an herb which is well suited for water-based applications. Basil hydrosol is wonderfully relieving to hot inflamed skin conditions, insect bites, sunburns, etc. Flies and mosquitoes don’t seem to enjoy the uplifting scent, so this is a great one to have on you in the summer as an alternative to commercial repellents. This is a hydrosol that can be used topically and internally and has a vast range of applications that will be detailed in the information that accompanies each bottle.
